About Pete
Pete Smyser is a virtuoso guitarist proficient in many musical genres including jazz, classical, blues, contemporary, folk and more. He has over 20 years of professional performing experience (and over 30 years of playing experience.) Pete pursued formal studies in both classical and jazz music and received a full scholarship to attend Temple University in 1985. He has performed alongside many notable jazz artists including; Warren Vache, Harry Allen, Larry McKenna, John Swana, Richie Cole, Grant Stewart, Byron Landham, Tom Lawton, Steve Gilmore and Robert "Bootsie" Barnes (to name a few).
Critics have likened Pete Smyser's jazz artistry to such legendary guitar icons as Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Jim Hall, and Barney Kessel. Smyser has released 4 CD's as a leader.
Smyser has over 20 years of teaching experience and currently provides private guitar instruction from the following locations... Moravian College (Bethlehem, PA), his home studio (Harleysville, PA), and the Wayne Art Center (Wayne, PA).
ADDITIONAL POINTS OF NOTE...
 Was on the artist roster of the Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour (PennPAT) from 1997-2004.
Invited in 2006 to be part of the adjunct faculty of the Moravian College music department.
 Was invited to perform with the Philadelphia Orchestra in 2005.
 22 years of professional teaching experience including private guitar instruction, Masterclasses and other Educational Presentations.
 Has appeared on television and radio shows in addition to countless performances at festivals, clubs, universities, and churches.
